Teacher Training Program (TTP) is a J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program in which Korean teachers come to the United States to gain exposure to U.S. culture and to learn the systems and techniques in American classrooms while sharing the skills and knowledge gained through their experience in Korea. The teacher receives training in the classroom as he/she assists and collaborates with the main teacher.
The primary objective of KoAm’s Teacher Training Program is to
"Foster global understanding through educational and cultural exchanges. It offers exchange trainees hands-on experience, enhancing the expertise in their fields, and learning about US society and culture. In turn, they share their own culture and perspectives with American participants. When we appreciate the similarities that bring people together, we strengthen our mutual understanding." -The U.S. State Dept.
Trainees are permitted to receive training in American schools for up to 18 months.
